In this century, the revolution will not be televised, it will be streamed live, tweeted, blogged and organised on Facebook.
GO LIVE AGAINST GENDER BASED VIOLENCE is campaign by RECA aimed at using mobile phones, live streaming and social media to mobilize voices against GBV and contribute to United Nation Secretary Generals Campaign “Orange the World: End Violence Against Women”
We aim for the following outcomes from the campaigns:
Over 40 hours of content against Gender Based Violence
Over 4,000 Live Stream Videos
To reach an audience of 1 million people in 16 days
Goal: On a macro level, the Go Live Campaign’s aim is to cause a stir on Kenya’s social media front by brining the conversation of Gender Based Violence to people’s news feeds and influencing them to go live against GBV. On a micro level, we aim to encourage people not to be afraid to speak out whenever they see any act of violence being undertaken. To assure them that there voices matter.
