Are you passionate about filmmaking?!  Do You have What it Takes to make an incredible Short Film in 24Hrs?!  Apply Below

United States International University - Africa, School of Science will be holding a Film Master Class Workshop and the 24hr Film Challenge that brings together successful Alumni in the Kenya's Film and TV Industry plus industry experts to achieve the objectives below.

  1.  To bring talented Alumni in the TV and Film Industry together
  2. To provide an in-depth analysis of the industries current state
  3. To provide an understanding of how to build and structure stories
  4. To refine the Technical Skills required for producing content
  5. To set the stage for the intensity of producing a film in limited time. 

The Workshop will seek to cover the following areas:
  • Industry Experience through a panel discussion
  • Story Structure and Characterization
  •  Using the Camera to Tell the Story
  •  The critical role of sound and how to screw up
  •  The power of production Design and Why it’s the most critical part
The 24hr Film Competition will involve the group of 4 students teaming up to produce a 3-5min short film within 24hrs with the winning short film winning 10,000 shillings. The winning film will be selected by a panel consisting of journalism Alumni students and Lecturer with the chief guest being the university's Vice Chancellor

    Participants have to be available for all the 4 days

    We do not accept trailers

Your application will only be considered if you have met the following requirements:
1. You have filled out the application form fully! 
2. You have worked on at least one short film 
3. You are a student at USIU 
4. You are fluent in the English language, written and spoken.

​Application Deadline
The deadline for receipt of all application is Sunday Oct 29th 2017. All  applications received
after this date will not be accepted.

Selection of participants
Participants will be selected at the sole discretion of USIU-A. Applicants will receive feedback on their applications the week beginning 1st November 2017 via email or call. There is no legal claim to participate in the Film Workshop and 24hr Film Challenge.

Attendance
USIU-A offers, free of charge, a comprehensive programme to all participants. In return we expect your full participation and daily attendance. USIU-A reserves the right to remove participants who misuse their participation.

Privacy
USIU-A respects each persons right to privacy. We do not buy or distribute
personal information or your samples of work for commercial purposes. Your application data will be
treated confidentially. If you are selected to participate in the Workshop, it may be
displayed on our website or related areas.
