Our MISSION is to create sustainable avenues that promote self criticism, peer-to-peer evaluation and appreciation among filmmakers
At Re-tuning Cinema in Africa we’re working with institutions of learning, our community of filmmakers, distributors, media company owners, donors and volunteers to keep the ecosystem of film making alive and accessible, so every film maker across Africa can access continuous support in their creative endeavors. We believe collaboration of filmmakers to support each others endeavors from concept to screen is essential to individual growth and our collective future.
These are the VALUES that guide our mission to the ecosystem of film making alive and accessible
Film is a canvas through which the society preserves its history, examines itself and shapes its future.
Film is a source of entertainment and a tool to spread culture.
Film is an art expressed through the cooperation of different artistes with the intent of communicating to society or the world.
Film should enrich the lives of those who make it or experience it.
Filmmakers must have the ability to shape the industry and their experiences within it.
The quality of Africa’s cinema as a product for public consumption depends on the contribution of stakeholders in taking risks that promote growth, evaluation and innovation.
The commercial involvement in the development of Africa’s cinema brings many benefits; a balance between commercial profit and the growth of the filmmakers is critical.
Show casing the public benefit of supporting Africa’s filmmakers is an important goal worthy of attention and commitment.
